This Privacy Policy explains how SeePractical ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with our mobile applications, including Geo Tag Camera and PDF to Audio (each, an "App", and together, the "Apps"), and this website. We build practical productivity tools, and we aim to collect as little data as possible.
By using our Apps, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Apps.
1. Summary
- Our Apps are designed to process your content on your device.
- We request permissions (such as location, camera, and file access) only to deliver the features you ask for.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to make the Apps work. Depending on the App and the features you use, this may include:
a. Location data (Geo Tag Camera)
Geo Tag Camera uses your device's precise and/or approximate location to stamp photos and videos with coordinates, address, and related information such as weather for that location. Location is accessed only while you are actively using the camera feature and is written into the media (and overlay templates) you create. We do not transmit your location to our own servers; it stays in the media stored on your device unless you choose to share that media.
b. Camera and microphone (Geo Tag Camera)
Geo Tag Camera uses your device camera (and microphone, when recording video with audio) to capture the photos and videos you take within the App. Captured media is saved to your device. We do not access your camera in the background or without your action.
c. Files and media access (PDF to Audio)
PDF to Audio reads the PDF files you choose to open so it can convert their text to speech and, at your request, save the resulting audio file to your device. The App accesses a file only when you select it. We do not scan, upload, or index your other files.
d. Weather data (Geo Tag Camera)
To display weather on your overlays, the App may send your approximate location to a third-party weather provider to retrieve current conditions. This request returns weather details for that location and is not used to identify you.
e. Diagnostics and usage
We may collect limited, aggregated diagnostic information (such as crash logs and basic usage events) to fix bugs and improve stability. Where this is collected, it is handled in accordance with the policies of the relevant service providers (for example, the app store or analytics/crash-reporting providers) and is not used to identify you personally.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- provide the core features of each App (such as tagging media with location and weather, or converting PDFs to audio);
- save the content you create to your device;
- diagnose problems, maintain security, and improve the Apps; and
- respond to your support and privacy requests.
4. Permissions
Android requires your consent before an App can access sensitive features. The Apps request the following permissions for the purposes described:
| Permission | App | Why it's used |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Geo Tag Camera | Stamp media with coordinates, address, and weather. |
| Camera | Geo Tag Camera | Capture the photos and videos you take in the App. |
| Microphone | Geo Tag Camera | Record audio when capturing video (optional). |
| Files & media | Both Apps | Open the PDFs you select; save photos, videos, and audio you create. |
| Internet | Geo Tag Camera | Retrieve weather for your location. |
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device's Settings > Apps > [App name] > Permissions. Some features may stop working if a required permission is denied.
5. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes. We may share limited information only:
- with service providers that help operate the Apps (for example, a weather data provider or crash-reporting service), strictly to perform services for us;
- when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process; or
- to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or SeePractical.
Any content you choose to export or share (such as a tagged photo or an exported audio file) is shared by you, through the apps and people you select.
6. Data Retention
Content you create with the Apps (photos, videos, and audio files) is stored on your device and remains there until you delete it. We do not retain copies of that content on our servers. Any diagnostic data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because most data stays on your device, you can exercise many of these choices directly by managing permissions or deleting content and the App. For any other privacy request, contact us using the details below.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the Apps. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Apps or this website where appropriate. Your continued use of the Apps after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
